A citizen science project using a globally distributed agricultural pest to better understand species invasions and how insects adapt to climate change

I just launched a citizen science project - Pieris Project (pierisproject.org) - with a great team of researchers. The ultimate goal of the project is to collect a single species of butterfly from across its entire range every year in to perpetuity. Why? Because this type of data - wide geographic range and sampled year to year for a very long time - is critical to uncovering the mysteries of how species adapt to changes in their environment. If you are a researcher interested in collaborating on this project in any way, contact me.

You can check us out on Facebook and Twitter (@PierisProject) as well.
